The Payette River Scenic Byway (just declared a National Scenic Byway) extends along Idaho 55 from the junction of Idaho 44 west of Boise, north, to McCall.

Driving to McCall takes approximately 2 to 21/2 leisurely hours following the scenic Payette River.

The Byway is fully paved, open year-round and provides access to guided rafting and kayaking, camping areas, snowmobile and mountain biking trailheads, the Boise and Payette National Forests and more.
